Many Playground Pics

Pascale had a friend from her new school over for a play date this week! I'm glad she's making friends and adjusting well to school. Josephine likes her school, too, but she does this passive resistance thing in the morning. She refuses to get out of the stroller and walk into the building. I have to pick her up and carry her in. Once she's in, she's fine and I can leave her there with no problem.

We had some beautiful weather again this weekend. We tried to get out a lot and take advantage of it because the long wet winter is on the way.

I watched the presidential debate on Youtube. I wanted to see McCain flake out and Obama blow me away with his charisma. Disappointment on both counts.

Pascale runs into friends at the playground all the time.

We had a bit of fog the other night which made the sky look pink. This is St Luke's Church, as seen from our window.

Life in Costume

We've had some lovely weather the past couple of days. The weather being fine makes my life so much easier, esp since I have to get the kids to and from school. The round trip involves no small amount of walking. Bernie drops Pascale off on his way into work, which makes my life much easier.

Josephine likes to climb on our headboard, which practically gives me a heart attack. That is the ceiling near her head.

Every day after we bring Pascale home from school, they both put on costumes and wear them for the rest of the day.

Josephine Starts School

Josephine started preschool on Wednesday! She's going to the same preschool that Pascale went to last year, so she's used to going there. All the same, it's still a bit traumatic for her when I drop her off there. She has not cried, but I can tell she'd rather go home with me. She does seem to like it there, though, and always has good stories of things that happened during the day. She especially likes the ballet class. Above is a photo of her before we left on her first day. Bernie bought her that princess lunch bag when we were in the US.

Josephine was invited to a birthday party Saturday! The mom graciously invited Pascale as well.

We went to the library and got some books. It was a nice day, so the girls read them in the park.

11th Anniversary

Yesterday was Bernie's and my 11th wedding anniversary. My how time flies! We went out for a nice dinner at Nobu.

Pascale is getting settled in at her new school. The first few days, she was pretty shattered when I picked her up, but now that she's used to the routine, she's more energetic when I come and get her. They serve lunch there, and it is soo nice not to have to make her lunch in the morning! Bernie walks her to school on his way to the tube. The location of the school in relation to our house and the fact that Bernie can take her there in the morning was among my top reasons for picking Hill House.

We have breakfast at Starbucks every Saturday, so I figured it was time that we immortalize this ritual on the blog.

I saw these silver elephants in a shop window several months ago and somehow I could relate to them. The mom looks so much like me, and the kids are so cute! Bernie got them for me for our anniversary.
